By linking a Direct Purchase Account to your MerckOrders.com profile, you will have access to the ordering section of the site, which gives you the capability to place orders, manage and track orders, make payments, view invoices, and download reports.



Registering on MerckOrders.com

You will need to provide an email address and create a password to register. You will also need to be prepared to enter some basic personal and professional information.

Merck will only use your information in accordance with our Terms of Use.

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking on the "Sign-In" button in the top right corner. Enter your email address and click "Continue." On the next screen, instead of entering a password, click the "Forgot your password?" link under the "Continue" button. You will be asked again for your email address. Click "Reset password." A link will be sent to your email address to allow you to reset your password.

Merck has changed the website log-in experience to use an email address instead of a user ID to register and log-in to Merck sites. The first time existing users log-in after this change, they will be prompted for their email address and asked to create a new password. If you are already a MerckOrders.com user, you should enter the email address associated with your existing registration.


Managing Your Direct Purchase Account

A Direct Purchase Account gives you the opportunity to buy products directly from Merck. The account also provides an easy, convenient way to manage your purchases. Through your Direct Purchase Account, you can

  • Order products day or night
  • View past orders
  • Track delivery status
  • Print and pay invoices
  • Check credits
  • Manage account information

Before you begin, it would be helpful to gather the following information, which is required for completing the Direct Purchase Account (DPA) application:
  • Ownership information (specialty, years in business, tax-exemption status)
  • Practice information (names of all partners/owners)
  • State license information

There are 8 steps in the process. It normally takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete the entire Direct Purchase Account application.

For security purposes, you will have 15 minutes per screen to enter your information or your session will expire. If your session expires, any information that has been previously entered will be saved.

Yes. After filling in the information, you will be asked to electronically sign the application and agree to certain terms and conditions that will govern the use of your Direct Purchase Account.

You will have the opportunity to save and print your application after it is completed.

It takes around 3 to 5 business days to process your application. You will receive an email notifying you of your application status.

You can link your Direct Purchase Account to your MerckOrders.com user ID after signing in to MerckOrders.com. Once signed in, click on "My Profile" in the top right corner. Then, click "Link a Direct Purchase Account." You will be taken to the "Link Direct Purchase Account" page. Fill out the information with your Merck Direct Purchase Account number and click the "Link DPA" button. You will receive an email within 5 business days notifying you that your Direct Purchase Account is linked. To return to MerckOrders.com click the "CLICK TO RETURN TO MerckOrders.com" link at the very top of the screen.

You can remove a Direct Purchase Account from your MerckOrders.com user ID at anytime after signing in to MerckOrders.com. Once signed in, click on "My Profile" in the top right corner. Then, click "Manage Direct Purchase Account." You will be taken to the "Manage Direct Purchase Account (DPA)" page. Select the account you want to remove and click the "Unlink DPA" button. Then click the "Submit" button on the "Review Unlink Account Information" page. You will receive an email within 5 business days confirming the removal of the account. To return to MerckOrders.com click the "CLICK TO RETURN TO MerckOrders.com" link at the very top of the screen.

You can update your billing information at anytime after signing in to MerckOrders.com. Once signed in, click on the "My Profile" link in the top right of MerckOrders.com. Then click "Manage Direct Purchase Account." You will be taken to the "Manage Direct Purchase Account (DPA)" page. Select the account you want to modify and click the "Edit Billing Information" button. On the "Edit Billing Address" page, change the information that you wish and click the "Save" button. You will receive an email within 5 business days confirming the change to your information. To return to MerckOrders.com click the "CLICK TO RETURN TO MerckOrders.com" link at the very top of the screen.

You can update your shipping information at anytime after signing in to MerckOrders.com. Once signed in, click on the "My Profile" link in the top right of MerckOrders.com. Then click "Manage Direct Purchase Account." You will be taken to the "Manage Direct Purchase Account (DPA)" page. Select the account you want to modify and click the "Add/Edit Shipping Information" button. On the Direct Purchase Account (DPA) page, click on the facility name of the shipping address you wish to modify. On the "Edit Shipping Address" page, change the information that you wish and click the "Save" button. You will receive an email within 5 business days confirming the change to your information. To return to MerckOrders.com click the "CLICK TO RETURN TO MerckOrders.com" link at the very top of the screen.

Merck is consolidating all Direct Purchase Account management functions into the MyMerckAccounts.com website. This will help you have access to all your Direct Purchase Account related items, such as applying for a Merck Direct Purchase Account, linking to or removing Direct Purchase Accounts, account address-related maintenance, contract availability, etc.


Updating Profile Information

Yes. To change the email address in your profile, click on "My Profile" at the top of any screen, then click the "Change Email" link. Then under "Login credentials" click the "Change Email" button.

To change your password, membership information, or Opt In/Out preferences, click "My Profile" at the top of any screen. After logging in, you will be taken to the "My Profile" screen. Under "Profile Information," select the appropriate link.
